Wightman welcomes new Director of Environmental Services
June 13, 2018Wightman welcomes a new member to its leadership team. Sarah Proceviat joins the company as Management Consultant - Director of Environmental Services. In this role, she will develop and manage the strategic direction of the company’s environmental testing, risk assessment, compliance, and permitting services; oversee daily operations of the department consistent with organizational goals; and cultivate business relationships with new and existing clients.
Through her academic and work experiences, Proceviat has developed the ability to merge environmental sustainability with industry/infrastructure development and operations to ensure the requirements and intent of both are well understood and respected. Through her experiences, success is proven when partnerships between sectors have been fostered.
Proceviat, has 15 years of environmental-related managerial experience. She comes to Wightman from Forbes Bros. Ltd., as Director of Environmental Services for their Canada and U.S.A. Operations. Among her responsibilities there were the daily fulfillment of FBL’s environmental contractual obligations, providing environmental services to client groups, and the establishment and management of working relationship with governmental authorities. Included among her key achievements during her time at FBL is the development of an environmental management system which is consistent with ISO:14001(2015) standards, for use throughout Canada and United States. Experiences prior to joining FBL included the development and implementation of access and environmental management plans for the utilities sector (hydro/power and oil/gas); as well as the completion of assessments, planning and permitting for various industries (mining, forestry, highway/roads, quarry development).
Proceviat holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in biological sciences from Canada. She has numerous academic publications to her credit, and she has been a guest lecturer at academic institutions as well as at numerous conferences and workshops.
Environmental Services offered by Wightman includes ecological assessments (wetlands, species at risk, invasive species, terrestrial and aquatic) and mitigation planning, compliance audits and protection plans, environmental site assessments, brownfield redevelopment, indoor environment inspections and inventories (asbestos, lead and mold), pollution incident prevention plans, sediment and erosion control plans, storm-water compliance plans, hydrogeological investigations, underground storage tank site characterization, dredging and solid waste permitting, ISO:14001:2015 audit and gap analysis.
